Stages [Sponsorship Announcement]

Road Biking / Sponsor Announcement

When you are training for a specific goal, event, or just to be healthier it is important to track various metrics to ensure you are improving. Many endurance triathletes are switching from just solely monitoring Heart Rate to also including Power for the bike portion of there training and racing.  This year, I am so excited to announce that I will be using Stages to track my power output. I absolutely love that Stages has used an integrated approach to track power through the crank arms. This allows for greater accuracy, which is so important during the most critical training sessions, or to ensure you are not going to hard on recovery days.  By using software such as Training Peaks you can download every workout for free or you can purchase premium to access endless data to monitor, critique and modify your training programs to train smarter and ultimately reach your goals.

One thing I have learned over the years is that even if you are being coached and especially if you are self coached, how important it is to understand how to monitor and track you own excursion level. You are ultimately in charge of your own body and your efforts. If I could give one word of advice it would be, know how to push to your extreme limits in races and KEY training sessions but in the same breath also know how to tailor it back during lighter sessions and save your great days for when it truly matters!
